INSTRUCTION MANUAL

General warning:
. Do not use your vehicle before reading this manual.
. Keep the manual for future reference.
. Before using your vehicle for the first time, check all the points in “Adjustments and Maintenance”.
. Make sure the battery is fully charged before first use.
. Before you start using your vehicle for the first time, you must become familiar with its dimensions and with how to use it. Try riding it first in an area without traffic or obstacles.
. Follow traffic rules. Remember the use of a helmet or reflective clothing may not be mandatory in your area, but we highly recommend it.
. In the case it is an electric model, this vehicle should not be used by children under 14 or by pregnant women.
. Do not leave your vehicle out in the sun for prolonged periods of time.
. Electric components in your bike are design to resist some splattering but not intense rain or pressure washing.
. At the end of the life span of this vehicle or any of its components, please don’t dump it or throw it away. It should be disposed of correctly so it can be recycled. Find out where your nearest recycling facility is.

Legal considerations when using electric vehicles:
Vehicles which are considered electric bicycles and can circulate on public roads must have following characteristics:
. Engine with nominal power of 250 watts
. Maximum speed: 25 km/h.
. Engine is only activated while pedalling.

Accelerator:
The use of an accelerator without pedalling is not permitted in vehicles for use on public roads.

Adjustments and Maintenance:
Caution: all adjustments described in this manual must be done by skilled staff. If you are not sure of how to adjust or install certain elements, ask a professional.

Adjustments to the height of handlebar:
For your safety, handlebar should not be raised any higher than the “minimum insertion” mark on the stem.

Adjustment of saddle:
You can adjust the height of the saddle to the most comfortable position, but for your safety, it should not be set any higher than the “minimum insertion” mark indicated on the stem.

 Pedals:
.Identify pedals with letter
.Pedal “R” is the right pedal. Fix it to the rod by turning it clockwise.
.Pedal “L” is the left pedal. Fix it to the rod by turning it counterclockwise.

Braking system:
(Caution: The braking system is critical for your safety. If you are not sure how to adjust or check the status of the brakes, please go to a professional).

Before using your bike check that the brakes are working properly:
.The lever should never touch the handlebar, even when fully pressed.
.Cables and their protective housings should not be damaged or in bad condition.
.The wheel rims, discs and pads should never be in contact with any type of grease or lubricant. If necessary, clean with an anti-dust product. Never use a solvent product that could dissolve or erase marks or paint.

Disc brakes require a period of at least 40km to reach optimum performance. You should exercise caution during this period. If brakes need any adjustments take your bike to a qualified profesional.

Position of front and rear levers, right or left, varies depending on market. You can change them to suit your preference.

Cleaning and lubrication of your vehicle:
(Warning: do not use steam jet, grease could liquefy inside mechanical components  (ball bearings and gear system) and your bicycle could be immobilized. Do not use powerful jets and never point them directly towards mechanical or electrical parts).

Your bicycle can be cleaned simply using a sponge and some water, maybe some soap. Drivetrain components can be cleaned with a small brush and products created for that specific purpose.

To prevent corrosion of components, dry any leftover water and lubricate moving parts (gears, chain, brake and gear cables). Lubrication of components is necessary for the optimal performance of your bicycle and to prevent rust from forming. Use special gear oil for cable and gear elements. For the chain use special oil for bicycle chains. After washing, dry thoroughly and lubricate components, suspension, brake levers, bottom bracket and chain. Internal gear systems and electric motors need no maintenance or lubrication.

Under no circumstances will the guarantee cover aesthetic, mechanical or electric damage derived from the vehicle being left exposed to water, mud or other weather conditions. It will likewise not cover damage as a result of lack of maintenance or lubrication, or inappropriate use.

Use and care of batteries:
.Lithium batteries have no memory effect and must be charged after each use, even if used for a short period of time.
.Never store a discharged battery. Battery must be charged at least once every 30 days. Never leave a battery discharged for prolonged periods.
.If the battery has an ON/OFF switch, it should be in the OFF position during charging. Always connect first the charger to the battery and then to a 220V wall socket.
.Check the contacts of the battery once per month and clean them with a dry cloth if necessary. Check cables and connections and remove any damaged cables.
.If you see that the battery is deformed or the casing is damaged or discoloured, you must properly discard the battery.
.Be very careful not to touch the contacts of the battery with any metal objects.
.Usually, it is considered that battery life expires when it reaches 60% of its original capacity.
.Only use the charger originally provided with the bicycle. Using other chargers could be very dangerous and cause fire or even explosions.
.Make sure that battery is properly secured to its holder and cannot fall while riding.

(Warning: Always charge your battery in a dry and well-ventilated room. Charging of the battery should be supervised at all times. Don’t allow children to hold the battery or the charger).

Using your electric bike:
To start using your electric bike simply turn on the battery (if it has a switch) and connect the control panel.  Now it’s ready for use.

Pedal assist: Select the level of assistance you need on the control panel. Be careful, for the bicycle will activate the engine as soon as it detects pedalling. The assistance is proportional to the level selected and the cadence of pedaling.

(Warning: Never overload the engine with long and steep slopes. The electric engine is designed to work together with the rider’s effort. Abusing the electric system may result in damage to the engine and the controller. Guarantee will not cover overload of electric systems).
